Finalmente Nicole chiarisce come stanno le cose:

For those of you asking about my SP status, I would like to give you some clarity. I am not currently working on the next album. I may however be touring with the band some time next year. At the moment I am focusing on my band The Cold and Lovely. I am also open to working with other artists if the right project presents itself. Thank you all for your continued support on this musical journey of mine!

L'apertura di Smashingpumpkinsnexus.com ha permesso a Corgan di postare aggiornamenti sulle registrazioni praticamente ogni giorno (insieme a segnalazioni di altri suoi progetti). Difficile seguire tutto per filo e per segno, ma oggi abbiamo qualcosa di più concreto:

Pare le che le registrazioni di "Monuments to an Elegy" siano a buon punto, terminati gli arrangiamenti, a breve si passerà alle parti vocali e verrà aggiunta la batteria. Nessuna traccia di Nicole o Mike in studio con BC e Jeff, ma in compenso abbiamo una tracklist provvisoria:

Sob, sigh.

Sono stato al recente show milanese e devo dire che i nuovi brani sono tutti promettenti, soprattutto Brennisteinn (che già avevano suonato l'anno scorso e che è rimasta invariata), Hrafntinna e Kveikur.

Loro stessi hanno definito questo disco "l'anti Valtari" e dai suoni già registrati che sono emersi, direi proprio che è così.
Tra l'altro è il primo disco come "trio" dopo l'abbandono di Kjartan.
